Scope:

The Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) will report to the Company’s Board of Directors and will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the company’s portfolio of company-operated convenience stores, lessee/dealer-operated stores, and its wholesale motor fuel business. The CEO will be responsible for evaluating new investments, ventures, and other strategic opportunities and shall provide inspirational leadership and direction to all employees, fostering a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and continuous improvement. The CEO will have profit and loss responsibility and is expected to work collaboratively with the other members of the Executive Team in the development of long-term business strategies and ensure that those strategies are successfully translated at the highest levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic direction and plans for the company regarding all functions including sales, marketing, business development, and the overall customer experience

  • Establish the Company’s long-term strategic vision and short-term goals and objectives

  • Ability to help define and implement the Company’s future business models to include M&A activity along with co-op retail operations, dealer operations, and real estate acquisition/divestiture

  • Deliver strategic leadership for defining the path to growth and profitability and the establishment of an effective growth process and infrastructure

  • Translate the company’s strategies into actionable business plans

  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

  • Lead the business planning process, working collaboratively with the company’s finance team to develop business unit and department-level annual budgets

  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth

  • Head up the executive leadership team

  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to develop and implement a successful team development strategy

  • Take actions to ensure adequate management development and capable management succession plans are in place for those functions/business units falling under his/her responsibility

  • Develop and establish operating policies and processes consistent with the Board's policies and objectives and ensure their adequate execution. Appraise and evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and initiate actions for improvement where needed

  • Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations

  • Develop and documents best practices in areas including forming joint ventures, negotiation tactics, assessing cultural dimensions, due diligence data collection, integration planning, and developing policies for transitional service contracts for acquisitions, divestitures, and other M&A matters

  • Oversee corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis

  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports and annual audits

  • Works with the Company’s leadership to identify and develop strategic alliances, channel partners, and programs

  • Establish and maintains personal contact with key Stakeholders e/g/ key suppliers, bankers, and prominent players in the industry

  • Keeps abreast of major competitive activities, as well as economic and industrial developments which are likely to impact the business

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase revenue

  • Participate in market development, including participation in industry shows, supplier conferences, analysis meetings, and other designated meetings

Qualifications

  • Proven track experience as CEO or other Senior Leadership Executive positions

  • 20+ years’ experience in the C&G space

  • MBA degree preferred

  • Extraordinary passion to create a best-in-class organization with an equally passionate Senior Management team

  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing a vision
